Hi, Thank you for giving me a very nice trip to Ba Be Lake! It was amazing! I had a best tour during my visit to Vietnam. The trip was well-organized, the tour guide was so nice, the homestay was cozy and the Ba Be Lake was so impressive!
The northeastern part of Vietnam is one of the least visited but most beautiful and interesting areas of Vietnam.
On this tour you will visit and go sailing in Ba Be Lake National Park, see spectacular waterfalls, impressive grottos and the border town Lang Son with markets and ethnic minorities. After the jeep tour you will go with a small group of max. 16 persons on a boat ride in the emerald waters of Halong Bay and Lan Ha Bay with the famous limestone formations, beautiful beaches and breathtaking grottos. You will visit Sung Sot Cave, Viet Hai Village and climb up to Hai Quan Peak (247 m.). Also there will be lots of time to go swimming and to relax on the sun deck of the boat.
The first night you sleep in a cabin on the boat and the next night in a 3 stars hotel in Cat Ba.
Detail Itinerary
Day 1: Hanoi - Ba Be National Park (250 km - 10 hours).
Departure from your hotel at around 8.00 am. Drive to Ba Be National Park. On the way you stop in Thai Nguyen city to visit the Museum of the Cultures of Vietnam’s Ethnic Groups, the second largest museum in Vietnam for ethnic minorities.Drive to Ba Be national park . Stay overnight with a local family in a Tay village overlooking Ba Be Lake. (L, D) Day 2: Ba Be Lake - Cao Bang (115 km - 4 hours). In the morning you go on a 4 hour boat trip on Ba Be Lake. It is a beautiful area surrounded by high limestone hills coveredin tropical evergreen forest. There is a high diversity of flora and fauna and on the way you will see many birds. You will continue down a river and stop at Dau Dang Waterfall and the impressive Puong Cave which is 30 m high and 300 m long. The river flows through the cave and the boat will take you to the other side of the cave from where you drive to Cao Bang. You arrive in Cao Bang in the evening and stay in a hotel. (B, L, D) Day 3: Cao Bang - Ban Gioc waterfall - Cao Bang (180 km - 8 hours). At around 9.00 am you drive to the largest waterfall in Vietnam, Ban Gioc, where you stay for 2 hours. One end of the waterfall is in China, the other is in Vietnam. The walk to the waterfall is very beautiful. Drive back to Cao Bang. Stay overnight in hotel. (B, L, D) Day 4: Cao Bang - Lang Son (165 km - 4 hours). At around 9.00 am. you drive to the border town of Lang Son. In the afternoon you visit the town and the market with a lot of Chinese goods. Stay overnight at hotel in Lang Son. (B, L, D) Day 5: Lang Son - Hanoi(180 km - 3.5 hours). This morning you visit a pagoda next to two large and beautiful caves: Tam Thanh and Nhi Thanh. Drive back to Hanoi. Stay overnight at hotel. (B, L) Day 6: Hanoi - Halong Bay. Departure: 7:45 AM pick up at your hotel. Drive to Ha Long harbor: 3 hours with a short break on the way. Drop off at Fantasea Adventures office (in Halong city) for a welcome drink. Boat tour: board boat around 12:00 PM, lunch will be served on theboat while we cruise around the bay. Cave visit: drop off for a guided visit of Sung Sot cave Discover Titop area and/or Luon cave area. Weather permitting our guests will be able to hike up Titop mountain as well as kayak and swim in the bay’s emerald waters. A Vietnamese Dinner will be served on the boat. Overnight: clean air-conditioned rooms with private washroom on boat. (L, D) Day 7: Halong Bay - Cat Ba Island. Rise early for another chance to swim or rise later and have breakfast at your leisure. The boat will drop guests off at Gia Luan pier on Cat Ba island. In the morning: A bus will take you to Cat Ba national park for some hiking and cycling. After the excursion, guests will head towards Cat Ba city to check-in at the Holiday View hotel on Cat Ba. Lunch will be served at the Hotel. Afternoon: Guests can relax at the hotel, shop along the sea-side strip, visit Cat Co beaches or go for a trip to Monkey Island with their tour guide. Evening: free time. Overnight: clean air-conditioned rooms with private washroom. (B, L, D) Day 8: Cat Ba Island - Halong Bay - Hanoi. Morning: Rise early to enjoy the sunrise or sleep a little longer, but check out is at 08:45. We will head back to Gia Luan pier by bus and board the boat to make our way back to Ha Long Harbor. Lunch will be served on the boat. Drive to Hanoi: 3 hours with a short break on the way. You will be dropped off at your hotel around 16:00. (B, L) (B: Breakfast, L: Lunch and D: Dinner)
